Are you in need of a dog who can turn even the rainiest day into a cozy cuddle fest? Look no further than Lovely, our two-year-old bundle of affection with a knack for snuggling!
Lovely is a true people-pleaser!!! She knows sit, and that’s about it for now. But she is absolutely able to learn FAR more.
Dogs: dog-friendly, Love seems to love being around other doggies. She has been able to politely meet every dog she’s been introduced to in her foster home and at doggy daycare. She has been able to play politely with those that need polite/slow play…. But has been able to go balls to the wall with some crazies!!!! She does get overexcited on leash and can introduce play on leash that’s not desirable. But she is so far non reactive on leash. She does pull towards other dogs, but with some directions and corrections? Love will be an amazing leash walked, she has a solid base for it!!!
Cats: cat-curious (with no hard feelings if the cats aren’t keen on playing along). Love did great with meeting a cat initially! Love was scared and avoidant. Love will need some direction and instructions on how to behave properly around kittens with some slower intros. The kitty she is currently fostered with is… NOT kind and she gets swatted for even coming close. If kitties are in Love’s future, Love would prefer slow intros. No kitties is easiest and best… but a home with kitties does not seem impossible. (We will update this bio as she improves and/or degrades with her kitty foster sibling.)
Kids: Love has been great with kids! She’s a gentle soul who’s shown nothing but kindness to the little humans she’s met. Love is handshy… show slower/kinder/savvy kids/parents may help her thrive
Crate: Crate training? She’s a pro! Lovely is an absolute angel in her crate, only making noise when she’s letting you know she needs to go outside. She seems to be potty trained, but she might still need a little nudge to perfect her routine.
Now, let’s talk about her energy level: Lovely has enough zest for a game of fetch or a romp in the yard, but if you’re more into lounging on the couch, she’s more than happy to join you there. She might be tempted to engage in an enthusiastic game of tug-of-war or a spirited chase, but if cuddling is on the agenda, she’ll happily hit the brakes to snuggle up next to you. Actually… she would much prefer to be in your lap, on top of you, and as close as she can possibly be…. Her foster humans are just in awe of how cute she is when she cuddles up… hence her name, Love!
