Chiad was found as a stray and had been in the shelter since January. She came in with a mangled leg which the shelter amputated and now that she has recovered and is getting around well she is ready to find her forever home! Chiad was brought to our volunteer’s home and was assessed for her compatibility with dogs and cats! Chiad is young and playful, and was becoming stir crazy and extremely stressed in the shelter environment which resulted in the shelter almost having to euthanize Chiad due to her quality of life in the shelter environment. She is now loving daily walks, playing fetch in the backyard, and wrestling with her foster sister!
Chiad has met a huge variety of dogs, small & large, & has gotten along with everyone that she meets. She really wants to play with her doggy friends, so a playful dog sibling would mean a lot to her! She is currently being fostered with another female dog. So far they have been coexisting nicely, playing together, sharing toys, and cuddling. Chiad has taken corrections from her foster sister well. She has shown no signs of food aggression.
Cats: Chiad did meet a cat, and was respectful of the cat’s space. She listened to the cats swats and hisses. Chiad is not currently housed with cats so she would need to meet some kitty friends again and would likely need slower/careful intros.
Kids: Chiad has not met a human she does not instantly love! We have not been able to see her around young kiddos yet, but she hasn’t shown us any signs that she *wouldn’t* enjoy the presence of kiddos.
Leash training: So far Chiad is reportedly not reactive on leash and pulls minimally, if at all!
Crate training: Chiad is doing well in her crate, sleeping overnight there and being crated at times during the day while her foster humans are out of the house.
Potty training: Chiad appears potty trained so far. She is new to her foster home & is still getting a handle on the routine!
Ciad is a spunky tripod with lots of energy. She loves toys and playing with her foster sister. Chiad is still adjusting to her missing leg, but she's doing so quickly, doing well on walks and running in the yard. She can go up and down stairs. She's looking for a caring family to play and cuddle with! Is that you?
