Piggy grunts, heart felt eyes, loyalty to last a lifetime…That is a bare bones summary of our sweet adoptable Bug. This goofy lovebug is special and was saved by PKR from being euthanized at a shelter that was unsuccessful at getting him a home. Is it because he is a black dog, whom are overlooked so often? We will never know why so many people walked past his kennel and showed no interest in this loveable guy. He is an earth angel that will love any human that comes into his life. Bug is about 2 years old and around 60lbs.

Bug is quite possibly the best kept secret in the world. Get him one-on-one and he reveals his charm and easygoing nature. He gives the gentlest kisses, loves affection and cuddles, and will insist on sitting in your lap. A stranger doesn’t exist in Bug’s world. He is so very different from what you would first think when meeting him in the kennel at the shelter. Bug was stressed out and losing his sanity. Out of the shelter environment, Bug will melt into your arms and give all the love you could ever need.

Someone was good to this dog once upon a time; they taught him things, like how to give love and also some cute little tricks. He’s smart, curious and generous. He’s easy and tolerant, the way goofy boy dogs nearly always are. He settles fast and snores loud. We hope someone gets a chance to see him the way we do and makes him their own. Bug knows how to live in a home environment as he has lived his life with a family, or so we can only assume.

Dogs: He has been known to get along with dogs, and we haven’t seen any issues yet with him and the dogs he has met. He spends some time at a small scale doggy daycare and does great with the various genders and temperaments. He LOVES to play with other doggies. So a dog friend would be perfect in his future home, but one that would love to play and cuddle with him. He will gently nibble on other dog’s ears for play, which may turn some dogs off. But he takes corrections well from humans or dogs.

Cats: Bug has met some cats, and has been overall a scaredy cat towards them. He doesn’t fight back when he’s swatted, he gets sad and doesn’t know what he did wrong. A home with cats is possible!

Kids: Bug is so gentle and loving… any kiddo would be SOOOO lucky to have him as their best friend. He doesn’t chomp treats from your hand, instead he gently takes them! As with any dog with young kids, monitoring is key… Bug means no harm but hims gots LOTS of love to give!!!

Potty trained: Bug hasn’t had any potty accidents in the house so far, he has marked (which isn’t abnormal for dogs, especially males)

Leash trained: Bug does have a tendency to pull on leash, but he is working on his leash skills! He is very treat or attention motivated and hasn’t been reactive to people or dogs thus far.

He is a sensitive soul full of love and kisses. He is gentle and loveable. The more people to love Bug, the happier he is. His kisses and loving nature would surely bring the biggest smile to any kid (or adult for that matter) that is lucky enough to receive his love. Bug is longing for that final destination, a place to call home!
